Light pollution refers to the adverse changes in the light environment caused by the use of artificial light sources, mainly including the following types:
Glare: a strong light source that makes people feel uncomfortable and affects their vision and concentration.
Light spillage: Light spills into the surrounding area, affecting the surrounding natural environment and night sky viewing.
Light interference: Artificial light sources interfere with the physiological behavior of animals and plants, such as affecting animal feeding, reproduction and migration.
In order to control light pollution, major international standards such as CIE 150:2017, EN 12464-2:2014, IES MLO 2011 and TM15-07, put forward clear control requirements and calculation methods.
Domestic also issued a localized standard GB/T 35626-2017: Specification for Outdoor Interference Light Limitation with reference to the CIE standard, mainly with reference to CIE 150:2017.
The above standards can basically be divided into two camps, CIE/EN standards and IES standards.
In the CIE/EN standards, basically, the outdoor environment is divided into 4-5 regions, and the control parameter limits are proposed according to the partition.
